St.Agatha woman and passengers: Six sent to hospitals

Just thought I would post since there was some locals looking for this story.

WINTHROP — Six people were taken to local hospitals on Sunday following a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Route 202 and Main Street.

One of the crash victims was a 16-year-old girl who had to be extricated from one of the vehicles and was taken to a hospital by medical helicopter.

The girl was a passenger in a Mazda driven by Theresa Rossignol, 48, of St. Agatha. The Mazda, coming off Main Street, was crossing 202 to make a left turn when it was struck by a Hyundai crossover vehicle traveling west on Route 202.

Rossignol had three passengers, including the 16-year-old girl, and all four occupants of the vehicle were taken to the hospital.

The driver of the Hyundai was Sandra Hodgkins, 71, of Lewiston. She and her single passenger also were taken to the hospital.

The crash occurred about 2:40 p.m.

Winthrop police officer John Hall said he did not know the extent of the crash victims’ injuries.

“We’re reconstructing the accident, and the state police came out to do the mapping for us,” Hall said. “The rest of it is under investigation.”
